Gone From My Sight

Tramonto ad Heron Island

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength, and I stand and watch until at last she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sun and sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, "There she goes!" Gone where? Gone from my sight - that is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the places of destination. Her diminished size is in me, … [Read more...]

Yada Yada Prayer Group Books … Good Reading!

100_1873

I do love a good series!  It saves me from having to decide which book to read next.  I'm just now starting the third book in the Yada Yada Prayer Group series, and I highly recommend these books! My friend Ann referred me to these books, and this is shaping up to be one of my favorite Christian fiction series of all times. If you've never been a part of this amazing opportunity, I encourage you to head over the the Samaritan's Purse website and read all about it.  The packers  (people like you and me) choose whether … [Read more...]

Countdown to Election Day 2012

Forty days from today is Election Day 2012 in America.  You know what that means.  Just forty more days of TV ads, phone calls, and candidate-promoting Facebook status updates.  It means all of that and so much more. Because of the significance of the number forty in the Bible, some Christian organizations are calling for believers to commit to praying for our nation every day for these next forty days leading up to the November election.  I have made a personal commitment to faithfully pray for America for these forty days. I have decided that for me, this MUST be more than tacking … [Read more...]
