Hand-painted Pet Rocks

I could have gotten Grandpa a necktie for Christmas this year.  Or a new wallet.  But I wanted to get him something that I'd never gotten him before.  Pet rocks definitely fall into the "never been done" Christmas gift category for us. Last fall, I saw a picture of some hand-painted rocks done by one of my Facebook friends.  This particular friend is quite talented and comes from a family of artists and inventors.  Her father is the Gourmet Termite, and her mother is a painter. Snake on the Table!

 It was a normal Sunday like any other.  Grandpa and I arrived home from church,  and I went out back to light the gas grill.  I was at the grill with my lighter, when I discovered that I was not alone on the porch.  This charming fella was watching me from the table .... Vet Expenses for a Dog: How Much Is Too Much?

This is Lila our high maintenance dog. I was thinking that it might be interesting to total all of the money that we've spent on Lila over the past six years, but then again, I'm not sure Grandpa or I really want to see that number. What has cost us so much, you ask? A Happy Ending for an Abandoned Dog

What would you do if an abandoned dog showed up on your front porch late one night? A couple of months ago, this happened to my brother.  It was May, but it was still cold out, and the dog was hungry.  She also looked as if she had recently nursed puppies.  My brother, who is a tender-hearted man, took her in, and he and his family cared for her.
